أطلق تطبيق واتساب تحديثاً جديداً عبر برنامج Google Play Beta، إذ يقدم ميزة أمان جديدة تحمل اسم Block messages from unknown accounts، والتي تهدف إلى حظر الرسائل الواردة من حسابات غير معروفة.

أصبحت الميزة متاحة حالياً لبعض مستخدمي النسخة التجريبية، ومن المتوقع أن يتم طرحها لعدد أكبر من المستخدمين خلال الأسابيع المقبلة، وبحسب تقرير موقع "WABetaInfo"، تتيح للمستخدمين القدرة على حظر الرسائل بشكل تلقائي من الحسابات غير المعروفة التي ترسل كميات كبيرة من الرسائل في فترة قصيرة.
